Obituary

James "Jim" McBride, 60, of Abilene Texas, passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2026, following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Abilene, Jim was proud to call it home for his entire life. He dedicated 23 years to Arrow Fords Part Department, where he was known not only for his expertise and dependability but also for the friendships he built along the way. Jim was married to Judy McBride, the love of his life for 28 years. Family was Jim's greatest joy. He was a loving husband, a devoted dad, and a proud Pop Pop/Paw Paw. He was the kind of brother, uncle, and friend everyone hopes to have-selfless, dependable, and endlessly kind. Jim lived life fully and with an open heart, whether he was at the races, out fishing, or simply spending time with the people he loved the most. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy McBride; his daughters, Whitney and husband Terry Owen, Lillian and husband Chris Harrell, Brooke McBride and fiance Jared Burleson. Jim was a proud Pop Pop/ Paw Paw to Jaycee Pedroza and Virgil Harrell, with another grandchild on the way. He was the brother to Lana Rutherford and Beth Wetsel (husband Ryne Wetsel.) Jim was also the best uncle anyone could ask for to Chris Brock, Kristen Rutherford, Michelle Johnson, and Casey Brock, along with great nieces, a great nephew, and one great-great niece, who he loved all as his own. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty McBride, and his identical twin brother Tim McBride. Jim will be remembered for his kindness, his strength, his sense of fun, and the unwavering love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the family and he adored and the countless lives he touched. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 7, 2026 at 11am at North's Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8pm. 242 Orange St. Abilene, TX.
