James A. Wills passed away November 4, 2015 at the age of 90. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Chris Turner officiating, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. A Memorial service will follow in Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Jim was born July 26, 1925 in Albany, Georgia to R.B. and Ethel (Harris) Wills. In 1941 after graduation for Albany High School he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served in the South Pacific during World War II. After discharge from the Navy, he attended Georgia Tech University where he earned his degree in 1951. He spent thirty years in the garment manufacturing industry. In 1965, he moved to Abilene and was Vice President at T.S. Lankford and Son's. After several job related moves he returned to production manager for Aileen, Inc. Jim worked for the Department of Defense in San Antonio for five years retiring in 1987. Jim and Mary Jean returned to Abilene in 2004. Jim said he had three loves in his life, his country, his God and his wonderful family. His spirit is now with God and all is well.
He was preceded in death by his parents. His first wife, Ernestine Wills, sister Lucy Mae Tyson, brothers R.C. Wills and wife Margaret, Lynwood and Hugh and a step-son jerry Don (J.D.) Altman of Denton, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Mary Jean Bonine Wills of Abilene. Children, Mary Catherine (Cathy) Caffall and husband Clif of The Kenai, Alaska, Connie Bookout of Altus, Oklahoma and James C. and wife Sherry of Miss. A step-son Glen (Possom) and wife Cathy of Eula, Texas
