Janet Leigh Northcott aka "Grammy" ran into the arms of Jesus on April 18, 2025 at 3:00 pm surrounded by her family. I was born June 20, 1952 in Abilene, Texas to Paul and Wilma Wilson. My life took a turn in April of 1988. I was involved in a terrible car accident in Dallas, Texas and I had no idea the extent of my injuries but remember being on the operating table and the angel said to me "everything is going to be okay, you are not going to die." Once I was moved into a room and my family was allowed in, I could tell by their faces it had to be serious. We were told I would be paralyzed from the neck down and my family should put me into a nursing home. Thankfully we all agreed that was not going to happen. We started praying for 1 toe to move, 1 finger to move and started seeing progress shortly thereafter. After 3 months of being in the hospital and 3 months in a rehabilitation center, I walked out with the assistance of a walker and some braces on my legs! All glory goes to God the Father! Unfortunately, during that time, I missed out on my oldest daughter's wedding and my middle daughter's high school graduation. But after years of physical therapy and a lot of hard work I was able to walk with a cane, attend my son's graduation from high school, witness my middle daughter's wedding, drive a vehicle, hold my precious grandbabies in my lap, teach youth Sunday School class, lead women's bible studies, attend sporting events, travel and live a fulfilled life. My God is bigger than any medical condition or diagnosis given, and He had bigger plans for me which we are all so grateful for. I am survived by my daughter Angie Ceniglis and her husband Tom Ceniglis, daughter Leslie Mealem and her husband Shy Mealem, my son, Todd and his wife Shea Lovelady, 6 grandkids, 12 great-grandkids, my sister Jere Price and her spouse Dennis Price, my sister-in-law, Debe Wilson, along with nieces, nephews and cousins. I was blessed to have made friends along the way that became my family. My cup was full! I was preceded in death by my parents Paul and Wilma Wilson, my brother Jimmy Wilson and my late husband, Jerry Northcott. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I would like to encourage you to find a local church, pastor, friend or just ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and invite him into your heart!
