J.C. Polk 89 of Abilene passed away Wednesday January 2 2013. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of North's Funeral Home. J.C. was born on August 27 1923 to Roscoe and Delia Polk in Baskin Louisiana. He was married on December 10 1943 to Jimmie Lynn Polk and moved to Abilene in 1949. He worked in the oil fields from 1943 to 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents wife one son five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by one son Rusty Polk of Abilene; two nieces: Linda Norton and husband Darrel Barbara Owens and husband Mike all of Abilene; and brother-in-law Gene DeRutte of Port Neches Texas.
