Jean Martin King Brown, 79, of Abilene, Texas formerly of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away on May 4, 2015.
Visitation will be at North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M. on May 11, 2015 with rosary to follow. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Buffalo Gap Road, with Monsignor Fred Nawarskas officiating. Burial will follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of North's Funeral Home.
Jean was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on June 9, 1935. She was a graduate of Good Shepherd High School, Frankfort, KY. 1954. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brian & Jenny King.
Jean was an outstanding bridge player and held a life master ACBL ranking. She retired from Dillard's after 18 years of service.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Russ Brown, formerly of Frankfort, Kentucky, her three sons; Brian of Kyle, Texas, Ben of Coleman, Texas, and Beau of Austin, Texas, sisters, Barbara Green of Frankfort Kentucky, and Eileen Pettersen of Inwood, West Virginia, grandchildren, Bradley Brown of Kyle, Texas, Patrick and Shawn Brown of Abilene, Texas, great-grandchildren, Kaydence and Landon Brown of Kyle, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Abilene, Texas, or Hospice of the Big Country.
