Jerry Lee Northcott aka Papa J. passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 surrounded by friends & family. He was born in Cisco, TX to James & Dorris Northcott on February 26, 1951. He attended Snyder High School in Snyder, TX. He married Janet Leigh Wilson on January 21, 1999 in Sonora, TX. Jerry was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal & the Marksman Badge M-16. He was involved in the Baptist Church & Promise Keepers in Sonora, TX before moving to Abilene. Jerry Lee Northcott was preceded in death by his father, James Northcott. Jerry Lee Northcott is survived by his wife, Janet Leigh Northcott of Abilene, Mother, Dorris Northcott of Ft. Worth, Sons, Justin Northcott & wife Meghan of San Angelo, Younger Northcott & wife Alexis of San Angelo & Todd Lovelady of Hawley, daughters, Brooke Northcott of Laredo, Leslie Mealem & husband, Shy of Abilene, Angie Cenglis & husband Tom of Abilene, Brother, Steve Northcott & wife Sylvia of Andrews, Sister, Kathy Hanson & husband John of Ft. Worth, 13 grandkids, 11 great-grandkids, 2 nephews, 2 nieces & many friends that became family. A memorial service will be held at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, TX on Monday, Oct. 2 nd @ 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to Hendrick Hospice or to the Veterans Cemetery.
