Jerry Neil Schmidt, 57, son of Nancy and Jerry Allen Schmidt of Hawley, TX passed away unexpectedly the morning of December 10, 2023. Jerry attended high school in Hawley, TX where he excelled in football. Jerry was a kind soul who loved to hunt, fish, ride his Harley, spend time with loved ones, and worship the Lord. He spent most of his life doing taxidermy work, serving customers all over the country. Jerry was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and a true country boy. He never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother Nancy, his brother Eddie, and his uncle Rex. Jerry is survived by his father Jerry Allen Schmidt, his long time companion Jana Rogers, his biological children Cody and Laci, step daughters Brandy, Rachel, Emmalee, and Jessie, numerous grandchildren, and several cousins. A private celebration of life for family only will occur in January. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
