Jesusita Avalos Alvarez 86 of Abilene passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023, in Abilene, Texas. Mass of Christian Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023, at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 2525 Westview Drive. Wake service will be held Wednesday from 6-8 with the Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at North's funeral Home, 242 Orange Street. Visitation will also be held in Del Rio, TX Thursday August 17, from 5-7pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home located at 2020 Bedell Ave. Del Rio TX, 78840. Graveside service will be held Friday August 18 at 1pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery located at5144 US-90 Del Rio TX 78840. The family will meet at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Friday at 11am. Jesusita was born July 29, 1937, in Sanderson, Texas to Maria Avalos and Ramon Avalos. She moved to Del Rio at an early age and spent most of her life there before moving to Abilene in 1979. Jesusita loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved dancing, cooking Mexican food one of her specialties was Mole and baking cakes, she also loved taking care of plants, flowers and fruit trees. Jesusita met Arturo and the two spent 27 loving years together. Jesusita was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Maria Avalos and daughter Alicia Alvarez Trinidad and brother Llyod Avalos. Left to cherish her memories are spouse, Arturo Tarango of Abilene, 5 daughters: Blanca Gonzales (Oscar) of Abilene, Margarita Quintero (Victor) of Jacksboro Texas, Juaquina Delagarza, Maria de Rosario Leija of Abilene, Maria De Jesus Montalvo of Weatherford, Texas. 6 Sons: Juan Manuel Alvarez of Camp Wood, Texas, Pedro Alvarez Jr. (Amelia) of Abilene, Doroteo Alvarez of Abilene, Pablo Alvarez, of Abilene, Guadalupe Alvarez (Tepi) of Abilene, Esequiel Alvarez Sr. (Debbie) of Abilene and 41 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and many friends.
