Obituary

Jodena Honeycutt 89 of Abilene passed away Friday April 22 2011.  Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange Street with Keith Clifton officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home.   Mrs. Honeycutt was born September 20 1921 in Stamford Texas to William and Josie Slatton Wright. She is a graduate of McMurry University . She married Paul Honeycutt on September 27 1941. They moved to Abilene in 1945. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and worked for the U.S. Government for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Honeycutt were the Ford dealers in Merkel in the late '40s and Lincoln-Mercury dealers in Abilene in the early '50s.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul; a son Gerald Honeycutt; a sister Ramona Joyce Wilemon; and a brother William Hamilton Jr.   She is survived by her sister Maxine Kelton of Abilene ; daughter-in-law Grace Ann Honeycutt of Sugarland Texas ; two grandsons Gerald Paul Honeycutt Jr. of Frisco Texas and Travis Scott Honeycutt of Lubbock Texas ; and several nieces and nephews.   Online condolences can be made at www.northsfuneralhome.com
