JOE ANN TANDY JACKSON                   Joe Ann Tandy Jackson 83 died in Dallas on January 21 2011.  A graveside service will be held  at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Abilene City Cemetery with Steve McCormick officiating under the direction of North's Funeral Home.                 Mrs. Jackson was born in Abilene December 12 1927 to Joe and Gertrude Tandy.  She graduated from Abilene High School in 1945 and was married to Gene F. Jackson for sixty-three years.  They lived in Odessa and Pecos for many years while Mr. Jackson worked for Halliburton.  Mrs. Jackson worked at First National Bank in Pecos and managed the community swimming pool.                 When Mr. Jackson retired they moved to Umpqua Oregon .  While there Joe Ann became involved in the school system and served two terms on the school board and was very involved in ceramics and gardening.  She loved to cook.                  The Jacksons moved to San Angelo in 1997 and then retired to the Buckner Senior Retirement Village in 2009.  Mr. Jackson died in April 2010.                 Joe Ann is survived by Joe Frank and Pam Jackson of Elk City Oklahoma Mark and Selina Jackson of San Angelo .  Their first son Robert Charles Jackson died in Pecos in 1968.  Two brothers Charles C. Tandy and wife Roena of Dallas and Alex R. Tandy and wife Julie of Keller.  Also surviving are grandchildren Jeremiah Jackson and wife Allison Christine Jackson and Meghan Galbreath and great-granddaughter Taylor Jackson – and nieces and nephews all of whom they dearly loved and enjoyed.   Online condolences can be made at www.northsfuneralhome.com.
