John "J.J." Moran Sr. 60 of Abilene joined his Heavenly Father on Saturday April 16 2011. He bravely fought pancreatic cancer for three years and was surrounded by his family and friends at the time of his victory. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street . Services will 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church with Brother Ronnie White officiating. He will rest at Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene . John was born December 24 1950 to Jack and Louise Moran in Chicago Illinois the oldest of seven children. He married Patsy Ingram on August 18 1979 in Abilene . He proudly served for 24 years in the United States Air Force as Load Master and was active in the Professional Loadmasters Association after his retirement. John was a devoted husband father and Papaw who loved his family and lead them with strength and courage. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Louise Moran; and his sister Janet Moran. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Patsy Moran three children Elvan Goode and wife Mariah of Cross Plains Michelle Liske of Abilene John Jr. and fiancé Alexis of Abilene; and eight grandchildren: Lauren Katharine Grace and Creed Goode Trey Maliyah and Jackson Liske and Crewe Moran.
