John T. Ruzinsky, 61, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025. John was born on January 7, 1964, in Crescent City, California, to John Anthony and Nancy K. Ruzinsky. As part of an Air Force family, he spent his childhood moving to various places across the country and abroad. One of those moves brought him to Germany, where he met Jodi Gee in high school-an encounter that would become one of the great blessings of his life. Though their families were later deployed back to the United States, fate brought John and Jodi together again in 2010. They married on July 11, 2013, a union filled with warmth, laughter, and deep companionship. John earned his high school diploma in Trenton, Illinois, and eventually found a calling he cherished with Wylie ISD, working as a bus driver and aide in special education, he loved working with the children. He took great pride in helping start the disc golf program there, sharing a sport he loved with students and colleagues alike. A dedicated and proud member of The PDGA and Abilene Disc Golf Association, John could often be found out on the course-or, during COVID, playing virtual rounds on his computer just to stay connected to the game. A true "foodie," John approached meals with the enthusiasm of a playful critic, always ready with a silly remark or a new recommendation. He was endlessly chatty in the best way, someone who never met a stranger. His warmth and openness made people feel instantly at ease; once you knew him, you couldn't help but love him. John is preceded in death by his father; John A. Ruzinsky. Left to cherish his memories are; his wife Jodi Ruzinsky of Abilene, Texas, children; Kelsey Harris of St. Louis, Missouri, Mark Ruzinsky of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Christopher Ruzinsky of Abilene, Texas and mother; Nancy K. Ruzinsky of Abilene, Texas. John's presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
