John Westman 68 of Abilene passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center. Memorial service will be held Saturday September 4, 2021 at 2pm at St. James United Methodist Church located at 3100 Barrow St. John was born February 22, 1953 in Oklahoma City OK. He was adopted at a young age by Parents Theodore and Pauline Westman. John received his primary education from Oklahoma public schools and after graduation he attended Oklahoma University. John was a truck driver for 23 years and drove across the United states for many years, before becoming a minister. John was a minister in the United Methodist Church in the Panhandle and West Texas. He loved fast motorcycles, fast cars and just about anything with a motor in it. He was a great mechanic and could fix just about anything, John was preceded in death by both parents, sisters; Rosemary, Sharon, and the mother of his 2 children, Frances Westman. Left to cherish his memories are: wife, Kaye Westman of Abilene, son William Westman and wife Jinna of Colorado, daughter, Wendy Westman of Colorado, 2 grandchildren JJ, and Caleb, 4 step-children Jennifer Stensby, Jason Stensby, Jared Stensby, Justin Stensby, . 11 step-grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and many friends.
