John Daniel Wolf Jr. of Potosi, Texas, born in Gatesville, Texas on July 16, 1924, left us at age 91 in Abilene, Texas on February 19, 2016. Born in Gatesville, J.D. Wolf enlisted in the Army, and was honorably discharged in 1946, then enrolled in Texas A & M University after discharge and obtained a BBA in business agriculture in 1950. After graduation from Texas A & M University J D went to work for the Farmers Home Administration, rising to the level of District Director before his retirement after 43 years. J.D. had many passions in life, but to mention just of few would be family, crappie fishing, gardening, dominoes with his buddies, and all Aggie sports. After his service in the army, J. D. met and married the love of his life, Gladys Mattie Maxey, in Evant, Texas. John and Gladys had three children, John Daniel III, Ben Allen, and Lori Sue. John was preceded in death by his wife Gladys, his second wife Fran, his brother William, and his son Ben. Survivors include a brother Andrew, son Danny, daughter Lori, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and his dear friend Noretta Cole. A Funeral Service will be held at the Highway 36 Church of Christ on Wednesday, at 1:00 pm, with Greg Melton officiating, interment will follow in the Potosi Cemetery, under the direction of North's Funeral Home.
