It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John F. Zormeier, 87, of Merkel, Texas, who passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, John lived a full and vibrant life, marked by dedication to his family and his passions. A proud and accomplished cowboy, He spent many years in rodeoing, excelling as both a calf roper and steer wrestler. His love for the sport was only rivaled by his unwavering work ethic. He spent the majority of his life as a truck driver, known for his dependable nature and commitment to the road. For 65 years, John shared his life with his beloved wife, Norma Zormeier. Together, they raised a family full of love and pride. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Zormeier, and his parents, John and Marion Zormeier. He is survived by his devoted wife, Norma Zormeier, of Merkel, Texas; his daughter, Connie Emerson and Husband J. of Merkel, Texas; his sister, Charlotte Kennedy and husband Tom of Michigan; and his nephew, Brandon Kennedy and family. Cremation services have been entrusted to North's Funeral Home. John will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
