It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jonathan Lane Masters Stratton, known to family and friends simply as Jon, of Abilene, Texas, on June 5, 2026, at the age of 38. Jon was born on October 20, 1987, to Kevin Stratton and Rhonda Masters Stratton. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, and friend, whose presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Jon served as the Maintenance Director at More Clean of Texas, where his mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities earned deep admiration from coworkers and friends alike. If something was broken, Jon could fix it. Above all, Jon's heart belonged to his family. He thoroughly enjoyed being with his wife, Sarah Kate Stratton, and was extremely proud of his boys, K'Den Stone and Wyatt Stratton. A passionate history buff, Jon never tired of learning about military history, tanks, and firearms, and loved sharing his knowledge of history with anyone who would listen. He could identify nearly any military vehicle or aircraft on sight. Jon loved discussing historical battles, as well as gaming on his PlayStation, tinkering on a project in the garage, or firing up the grill or smoker to the delight of everyone around him. He had a soft spot for his dogs and a gift for fixing things - always searching for the next project, always keeping his hands busy. Jon was known as a gentle giant: a loyal friend with a tender heart. Jon most often showed his affection through actions rather than words, and those closest to him never doubted the depth of his loyalty, love, and care. Jon is survived by wife, Sarah Kate Stratton; his parents, Kevin Stratton and Rhonda Masters Stratton; his sons, K'Den Stone and Wyatt Stratton; his siblings, Michael Stratton and wife Julie; Jason Stratton and wife Crystal; Courtney Hector and husband Roger; Celinda Pratt; Cecile Kerns and husband Travis; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly. Though his time with us was far too short, Jon's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the lessons he taught, the things he fixed, and the love he gave those closest to him. Funeral services for Jon will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 3:00PM with a Viewing from 2:00-3:00PM. at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St, Abilene, TX 79601. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Jon's life and to celebrate the memories he leaves behind.
