Joseph Morris Cooper 69 of Abilene Passes away Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 29th at 2pm at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Under the direction of North's Funeral Home.
Joseph was born on the 15th of March 1954 in Midland Texas, to Dorothy Beatrice Tumlinson and Morris Cooper. Joseph received his primary education from Midland schools. After High School he joined the Air Force and where he became a jet engine mechanic for the C-130 H's. Joseph served 4 years in the Air Force when he decided he wanted to join the United States Army. Joseph would become part of the 14th Field Artillery, where he was stationed in Bamberg, Germany. Joseph met his wife, Inge Cooper, while he was stationed in Germany and they had four children; Florian, Morris, Jenny and Penny. Joseph had two children from a previous marriage, Sophia and Theresa. Joseph enjoyed woodworking, cars, sitting on the porch with his wife and playing with his grandkids. Joseph loved going to watch his granddaughter at Team Chip Tae Kwon Do. He was known as Opa to many children who loved him.
Joseph was preceded in death by Morris and Dorothy Cooper,(Parents) Morris Cooper,(Son) and Inge Cooper (Wife).
Left to cherish his memories are: Florian Ackermann, Sarah Ackermann, Nora Ackermann, Adam Ackermann, Jenny Cooper, Luka Cooper-Zaja, Adrian Ibarra, Penny Cooper-Ibarra, Elsa Cooper, Sophia Reyna, Kurt Reyna, Emma Reyna, Jake Reyna, Theresa Chapman, Josie Chapman, Ellie Chapman, Jamie Chapman.
