Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Turner On the morning of Tuesday, August 31, 2021 Joseph Lee Turner, beloved father, uncle, grandfather, and friend went to be with the lord at the age of 67 years old. He was born on January 14th, 1954 to Ruth Ann Price Turner and Thomas Jackson Tuner in Abilene, Texas. He attended Abilene High School, graduating class 1972. He was a truck driver for Sysco Foods before working for Ben E. Keith Foods from 1999 until his retirement in 2020. He had a love for old westerns and everything John Wayne. Joe always seemed to have a winning scratch off ticket in his hand. He liked to camp in his day and enjoyed seeing the country from the mountains of Colorado to the Texas hill country. His love of camping is carried on by his granddaughters. He was a proud patriot that enjoyed his second Amendment right. He was welcomed to heaven by his parents Thomas Jackson and Ruth Ann Turner, sister Shirley Simmons, brother-in-law Charlie Simmons, uncle Richard Price, aunt Martha Price, cousin Ted Price, and many more beloved family and friends. Joe is survived by his son Daniel Lee Turner of Abilene, daughter-in-law Rebecca Renee Reinert Turner of Abilene, two granddaughters, Reagan Leeann Turner and Shelby Renee Turner both of Abilene, niece Jennifer Simmons and wife Kathy of Abilene, two nephews TJ Simmons and wife Redina of Abilene and Yancey Simmons and wife Shelly of San Angelo.
