Edwin Glenn Powers Born in Abilene Texas on January 18 1923 died in El Paso Texas on May 11 2007 Joyce Lily Tomkins Powers Born in London England on August 21 1922 died in El Paso Texas on December 23 2010 Glenn was born and raised in Abilene. He graduated from Abilene High School attended Abilene Christian College until WWII and then joined the Army Air Corps. After training he was transferred to the Eighth Air Force and stationed in England where he met and married Joyce who was in the British Army. After the war they returned to Abilene and began a 63 year adventure together with moves to Austin for university study (Hook 'em Horns) then Sugarland Mexico City Mexico Houston Bremond Tulsa El Paso then back to Austin. They retired to the country near Elgin outside of Austin for 20 years then made a last move to El Paso to be near some of their children. Glenn passed away three and a half years ago and Joyce died in December. Their memory is cherished by their four children and families who will hold a private graveside service on Tuesday. Children are Paul W. Powers and wife Lisa Elizabeth Faye Houston Mark John Powers and Glenn Powers Jr. and wife Karen. Grandchildren are Heather Feiner Matthew and Andy Powers Chaz and Clay Powers Timothy and Zachary Houston and Jack Powers. Great-grandchildren are Neveah and Taylor. Also surviving is Joyce's sister Betty Whiteside and her husband Ray and their daughters Melanie and Denise and families. Additionally remembering them are son-in-law Tim W.
