Judy Lawless, wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt and friend to many, passed from this earthly life Wednesday September 30, 2021. A memorial service will be held Monday October 4, 2021 at 11am At North's Funeral Home located at 242 Orange St. Abilene TX. Judy was born in Abilene Texas on May 19, 1945 to Jessie Lelin Kimbrel and Evalena Younglove Kimbrel. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Garry Lawless. She is survived by her children, Ginger Tamez and husband Armando of Midland; son, Todd Lawless of Austin; brother, Albert Denny of Abilene; brothers-in-law, Jerry Lawless of Granbury and Bob Lawless of Abilene; granddaughter, Andrea Tamez of Midland; grandson, Cory Tamez of El Paso; great granddaughters, Lilianna Tamez and Wynter Lopez of Midland; nephews, Don and Craig Johson and Dustin Lawless; nieces, Julie Dillon, Jennifer Franklin,Tracey Lawless, Bebi and Karron Johnson, along with several cousins, great nieces, and nephews. There are also life long friends too numerous to name from many States. Judy was a strong willed, fiercely independent and a loyal woman. She married Garry in June of 1963 and they shared 52 years together living in Texas, California and New Mexico. They loved traveling together and exploring the sights of this wonderful country. During their travels they would search out long lost family history and ancestors old home sights. Judy spent years searching and compiling volumes of genealogy so that an account of their ancestral lines were never lost. Family was an important part of their lives. Judy's work career started at the Paramount Theater while she was attending Abilene High School. It was also where she met her husband. With many adventurous avenues in between, she retired from Rentech after 36 years of service. Upon becoming a widow, Judys favorite place to travel became Arkansas. She made many new friends and memories there. Thankfully, she was able to make her last trip in September and was there for two glorious weeks before returning to Abilene due to health issues. Judy told a niece that she could not have asked for a better "last" place to travel here on earth and was so excited about the heavenly life ahead.
