Karla May Davis, 56, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in Abilene, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, November 1, 2021 Old Paths Church, 3501 Chimney Rock Road. Karla was born December 4, 1964 in San Angelo, Texas to Don and Lousie Gartman. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, me-me, and friend. Karla loved helping people, garage sailing, crafting, playing farkle with her grandkids, and going to her grandkids' football games. Karla had a heart of gold that shined through with her life's work in providing care to those who most needed it. She began work as a caregiver and never stopped. She held positions at the Abilene State School, numerous nursing homes and assisted living centers, and Hendrick Hospice before pursuing home health for the past 20 years. She loved working but working was not work to her, it was friendship and developing bonds that she held until their last days. She was loved by many and will greatly be missed. Karla is preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; one niece, Misty Vandzandt; and her feathered friend Rio. Karla is survived by her daughters, Nannie May Davis, Niece White and husband Chris; her grandchildren, Dylon, Kayla, Derek, Makenzie, Bailey, Kutter; her brother, Gene Gartman; her sisters, Darla Spears and husband Billy, Barbara Beggs and companion Ricky; three special dear ladies that she cared for who began as friends and quickly became family, Ruby Blascyk and her daughter Sherri Blascyk, and Peggy Elmore; her furred and feathered petting zoo, dogs Missy, Bambi, and Bo and bird Buddy; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
