Kay Hopper 60 of Abilene passed away Friday October 7 2011.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at North's Memorial Chapel with Jeff Addison officiating. Burial will follow in the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange St . Kay was born September 5 1951 in Houston Texas to Roy Clarence and JoAnn Lucille (Works)  McWhorter. She was a member of Disabled Veteran's Unit #86 and Veteran's of Foreign Wars  Post  #4458 in  Caldwell Texas .  She married Charles Hopper October 20 th 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents husband and one son Brian Orek Smith. She is survived by her son Nathan Allan Smith  and wife Deb of Clyde two step-daughters Danielle Rae McKee and husband Virgil and Darcey Elaine Hopper. Two grandsons Colton McKee and Michael Bryan Hosche. Four sisters Vivian Anita Cindy and Debbie. She is also survived by Dan and Sharon Hopper Randy and Angie Hopper and Rob and Teresa Hopper.
