Larry "Yeebe" Garrett, 72, of Abilene, Texas, departed for eternal life Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Abilene. Born and raised in Abilene, Larry attended Abilene ISD schools and graduated from Abilene High School, where he enjoyed playing basketball. Following his education, he dedicated more than 15 years of service to the City of Abilene before retiring. Larry was a man who cherished time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed listening to music, hosting BBQ gatherings, and spending time at Stevenson Park. He loved traveling with his beloved wife, Ivory, and was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. Larry's warm spirit, sense of humor, and love for those around him will be remembered by all who knew him. Larry is survived by his brother, Clifton Garrett of The Colony, Texas; his brother, Billy Paul Garrett and wife, Donna Kay, of Dallas, Texas; his sister, Sandra Garrett of Fort Worth, Texas; his special friend, Sharon Knox; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivory Garrett; his parents, Earl Garrett and Ruth Garrett; his brothers, Earl Junior Garrett and James Garrett; his sister, Ana Garrett; and his sister-in-law, Doll Garrett. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 6, 2026 at 10am at North's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Abilene City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday June 5, from 5-7pm at North's Funeral Home. Larry's family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, and expressions of sympathy during this difficult time. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and were blessed to know him.
