Larry D. Lyons, 64, of Killeen, TX, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1pm at New Fellowship Baptist Church. Larry was born March 9, 1960 in Abilene, TX to Mattie Clyde Thomas-Lyons and John Claude Lyons. He received his primary education from Locust, Jefferson and Cooper High Schools. After High School he enjoyed working with his hands. He was employed at Abilene Car Wash on South 14th St. and worked as a landscaper for many years. He later became employed as a cook at the Whitten Inn on East Highway 80 Abilene, TX. Larry accepted Christ at a young age, he loved the Lord, The Most High. In his spare time he loved to fish, TKO Boxing on North 13th, watching and playing basketball, swimming, dancing (his favorite dance was called "Greyhound"). He also enjoyed traveling, and he finally made it to Jamaica. He was a family man. One of his nicknames was "Rambo". Larry was preceded in death by his parents; mother Mattie Clyde Thomas-Lyons and father John Claude Lyons, brothers; Congeta "Snow" Lyons, Junior Lyons, his grandparents; grandfather Thurman Thomas, grandmother Annie Thomas, grandfather Walsh Lyons and grandmother Pearl Lyons. Left to cherish his memories are: Wife Brianna Lyons of Killeen, TX, Daughter Billie Je'ne Hickman, Grandchildren: La-Tayvia "Tay" Douglas, Mister Cotton, Kernena "Nena" Cotton, Cristy' Ana "Crissy" Cotton all of Fort Worth, TX, Mother In-law Tahama Montgomery of Kielleen, TX. 5 Sisters; Shirley Bordeauz (TJ), Dottie Dalbert-Lyons, Annie Pearl Lyons-Miller, Janette Lyons-Earl, Sharon Lyons-Williams (Mack) Brothers; Clifton Lyons, John Lyons, Jack Lyons (Bernice) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
