Laura Day 87 of Abilene died Friday January 30 2009. Graveside services will be Monday February 2 2009 at 1:30 PM at Slater's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday February 1 2009 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. She was born on June 5 1921 to James and Josephine Day at Dora Texas in Nolan County. In 1941 she graduated from Divide High School at Nolan. She graduated from Draughon's Business College and worked as a bookkeeper and Income Tax Service. She was preceded in death by her parents one brother Velta Day; two sisters Lorena Day & Mary Jo; and one nephew Billy Hand. Survivors include one sister Maudie Williams of Abilene; one niece Velma Ward of Snyder; four nephews James Day of Snyder Don Williams of Abilene Mike Williams of Leuders and James Hand of Sweetwater; several grandnephews grandnieces great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
