L.C. Baird of Lancaster, formerly of Frisco, Texas, passed away on December 1, 2023. Born in Merkel, TX, L.C. was the son of the late Lloyd Clarence and Geneva Juanita (Hammack) Baird. A graduate of Abilene High School, Class of 61' and was president of the FFA club, achieving a champion pig trophy, which he still displayed in his home office, never forgetting his humble roots. After graduating high school, L.C. began his career in telecommunications at Motorola in El Paso, TX in the early 1970's. He climbed up the corporate ladder and worked for Peter Kiewit, MFS, and lastly, Allegiance Telecom in Dallas where he retired in the early 2000s where he retired as President. Stating L.C. loved the Dallas Cowboys is an understatement as he was their ultimate fan, getting to watch their winning game the night before he passed. He also loved his dogs, Gringo and Principe as well as his electric 3-wheeler which he affectionately called "Mamacita." His true heart and devotion remained with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. L.C. is survived by his wife Rosario Baird, children: Mindy L. Terry and husband Darren of Dawson, TX. and Lance A. Baird and wife Jamie of Lancaster; his grandchildren: Megan Whiteside and husband Matt of Timpson, TX, Taylor Maass of Dawson, TX, Conner Maass and wife Stormi of Grapeland, TX, Harper Baird, Lila Baird, Reagan Baird of Lancaster, PA, and Amanda Terry of Tyler, TX; his great-grandchildren: Lilly and Oliver Maass; his two brothers: Ronnie Baird and wife Diane of Abilene, TX and Mike Baird and wife Tootie Vickers of Corpus Christi, TX.; and special family friends Tina Allen and her daughter Kassidy of Lancaster, PA whom he thought of as family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. L.C.was preceded in death by brother Loyd Dale in infancy, and brother Terry Baird of Abilene. Services will be held Thursday December 14, 2023 at 10am at North's Funeral Home Chapel, Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7pm at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St. Abilene TX, 79601 In lieu of flowers, donations in L.C.'s name may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
