Lena Smith was born in Texarkana and moved to Abilene, Texas, at an early age, where she was raised and attended school. She spent many years working as a manager at Taco Bell, building lasting friendships and touching the lives of many people along the way.
Lena loved having a good time and never met a stranger. She enjoyed shopping, sports, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and buying lottery tickets whenever she had the chance. She loved being surrounded by family and friends, laughing, talking, and making memories. Being the oldest sibling was something she carried proudly, and she always made sure her brothers and sisters remembered it.
She leaves to cherish her memory her spouse, Kendall; her children, Odis Willis of Conroe, Clifford Willis (Stephanie) of California, and LaTorry Willis (Eddie Townsend) of Abilene; her siblings, Michelle White (Tyrell White) of Abilene and Kenneth Hampton of Abilene; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Geneva Strahan step father Hersie Strahan and father Clifford Goodnight her sister Tillie (Tammy)Johnson brother Clifford (Lynn) Johnson sister Carrie (Elaine) Johnson.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 18, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30pm p.m. at North's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, at 11:00 a.m., also at North's Funeral Home.
