Obituary

Leonardo "Leon" Aguirre of Olden Texas passed away Wednesday December 29 2010.  Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange Street .  Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Fred Nawarskas officiating.   Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Texas State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Leon was born in Coleman Texas on April 6 1934.  He served his country proudly for 23 years in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.   He earned the National Defense Service Medal with First Oak Leaf Cluster; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal ; The Purple Heart: Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm (Unit Citation Three Awards) Bronze Stars Medal with second Oak Leaf Clusters and Air Medal.  He was also a member of the VFW Local Chapter in Eastland Texas . Leon was preceded in death by his parents Leonardo Aguirre and Irene Rodriguez Aguirre and sister Celia Aguirre Gonzales . He is survived by the mother of his children Wilma M. Aguirre of Kileen Texas two daughters: Linda Robinson and Cynthia Humphreys-Aguirre; two sons: Tommy Aguirre and Jeffery Aguirre and seven grandchildren; Brothers Ben Aguirre of Abilene Raymond Aguirre of Houston Johnny Aguirre of Abilene sisters Irene Aguirre of Abilene Cecilia Germain of St. Claire Michigan and Toni Herrera of Abilene.
