Lillie Mae Fraser 81 went home to be with her heavenly father and departed loved ones on the morning of May 2 2012 at her home. Visitation will be from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. on Friday May 4 2012 at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street . Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. Saturday May 5 2012 at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange Street with Keith Clifton officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery near Hodges. Mae was born November 17 1930 in Redmud Texas. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Pearl Cleaveland Lewis. Mae graduated from Hawley High School where she excelled in sports especially basketball and track. She married her high school sweetheart Windel Gene Fraser in 1948 in Abilene . In 1955 they welcomed their only child Teri Jean. In 1960 Mae found her newest and soon to be lifelong passion – bowling. She served as a board director and served on several committees over the years.   In 1978 Mae started the first adult-junior program at Triangle Lanes. She became a certified bowling instructor coaching many new bowlers in the area until 1990. Mae served as league coordinator at Triangle Lanes and Probowl for over 17 years. She served as league secretary for several leagues over the years. Until last year Mae wrote "Pin Points" for the Abilene Reporter News for over 20 years. Her awards and accreditations included: Writer of the Year for 1980 & 1981 induction into the United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame in 2012 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene of 57 years of marriage two brothers two sisters and a dear friend Joe Lang. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Teri and Monte Montgomery; granddaughters Kami (Jamie) Williams Lyle (Kirk) Fish grandson Ikey Montgomery; great-grandchildren; Heather Hunter Hannah Hope Hudson Jake Landon and Bryson; sister Pat and her husband James Smith; brother-in-law Meril Fraser; and several nieces and nephews.
