Lily Marie Johnson Hale was born in Abilene, Texas in 1954 to the proud parents of Mr. Chester Leon Johnson Sr. and Estella Mae Johnson.
Lily was raised in Abilene, where she received her primary and secondary education. In 1976, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she attended El Centro College, with a Major in Business Accounting and excelled in her career, working for the Federal Government; from where she eventually retired.
Lily lived most of her adult years working and raising her children in Dallas, Texas. She was a soccer and football mom to her sons, a supportive cheerleader mom to her daughter, and the surrogate mom to many. Although she moved to Dallas for her career and raise her children, her joy came from spending time with her parents, back in her hometown of Abilene, cooking extensive Sunday meals, and shopping.
Lily accepted Christ at a very young age. Accepting Christ as her Savior, attending Church, and serving others, was a foundation instilled in her by her parents. As a young child and throughout her adult life, she attended Antioch CME Church in Abilene, Texas, Macedonia Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas, and Good Hope Baptist Church, in Dallas, Texas. Most recently, she was a faithful attendee of Elmwood West Methodist Church in Abilene, Texas.
On Thursday, May 28, 2026, Lily gained her heavenly wings, peacefully in her home.
Lily was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Chester Leon Johnson Sr., her mother, Mrs. Estella Mae Johnson, and her brother, Chester Leon Johnson Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Dr. Stephanne Hale of Dallas, Texas, Chad Hale of Bellingham, Washington, and Corey Hale of Abilene, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jessikah (Phoenix, Arizona), Kadera and Keiuna (Dallas, Texas), Antwon (Abilene, Texas), Darius (Arlington, Texas), Corey Jr. (Abilene, Texas), Graciella (Ft.
