Linda Gates, 74, of Abilene passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. Linda was born March 1, 1946, to Willis and Emma Sauter in St. Marys, Pennsylvania. She played a vital role in nursing in Abilene as a nursing educator and founding board member of Hospice of the Big Country. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Emma Sauter. She is survived by her husband Robert Gates, her three children and their spouses, Kimberly and Rick Wombles, Kurt Gates, and Kyle and Danita Gates and her four grandchildren, Emma, Bobby, Lee, and Royce.
