Lyle M. (Skip) Slack, 81, of Abilene, passed away, Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Lyle Melvin Slack was born April 30, 1934 in Nunda, NY, to Lorron and Eunice Slack. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at First Central Presbyterian Church, 400 Orange Street, with Clifford Stewart officiating. A committal service with full military honors will be held in Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., under the direction of North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street. A twenty year veteran of the Air Force, Skip retired in 1974 as a Staff Sergeant. He served in Labrador, Newfoundland, Vietnam, and Germany. He was also a life member of the American Legion and VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three older brothers. He was survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Janice Slack, daughter, Vicki Lynn Slack, sons, Lyle M. Slack, II and wife Kayla, Scott C. Slack and wife, Kayla, grandchildren, Kyle, Karsyn, Madisyn and Dylan.
