Mamie ""Frances"" Craven 90 formerly of Abilene passed away Friday February 15 2008 in Lufkin Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in North's Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Chancellor officiating. Burial will be in Ross Cemetery Baird under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5- 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange St. Mrs. Craven was born December 30 1917 to Wesley and Mamie Turner in Baird Texas. She married Vernon A. Craven on December 15 1939 in Abilene. She was a graduate of Texas Tech an art teacher and homemaker. She was an active member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church. She was a resident of Abilene until 2002 when she went to live near her daughter. Prior to leaving Abilene she was active in Abilene Garden Club Creative Art Club and taught art at the Senior Citizen's Center. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughter Vernell Fesperman and husband Gerry of Sam Rayburn Texas and son John Craven of Lufkin Texas; granddaughters Leigh Ann Reimer of Liverpool Texas and Dana Salter of Santa Fe Texas; two great-grandchildren Ashley and Alison Reimer and five nieces and one nephew.
