Manuel Acosta Sorola was born on December 15, 1943, in Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, to Vidala Sorola de Acosta and Manuel Acosta Perez. He eventually settled in Abilene, Texas, where he built a loving home and community for his family. After a life well lived, filled with purpose and love, he passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vidala Sorola de Acosta and Manuel Acosta Perez; his beloved wife, Maria Guadalupe Acosta; and three sons, Alejandro Acosta, Raul Acosta, and Gerardo Manuel Acosta. Left to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Patricia Acosta, Olga Acosta (husband Ray Amador), Brenda Acosta, and Angelica Acosta; his three sons, Manuel Acosta Jr. (wife Misty Acosta), Antonio Acosta (wife Janie Acosta), and Sergio Acosta (wife Elizabeth Acosta); three sisters; and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
