Margaret Marcelle Locke Rodgers Butler 87 of Abilene passed away Friday August 20 2010 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Oaklawn Cemetery in Gorman Texas with Andy Rodgers officiating under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange St. Ms. Butler was born September 11 1922 in DeLeon Texas to H. L. and Lillian Locke. She attended St. Jo's Community School nearby. She was a nurse and farmed in Eastland County before moving to Abilene in 1958. She returned to nursing later and retired from Abilene State School. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Gorman Texas and 5th and Highland Church of Christ in Abilene. She was preceded in death by her parents H. L. and Lillian Locke. Two sisters; Faye Overstreet and Ann Foster Ivy. Two husbands Alvis Rodgers and H. Olan Butler. She is survived by two sons; Larry Rodgers of Abilene and Terry Rodgers and wife Cindy of Ennis Texas. One sister Ruth Hall of Altus Oklahoma. Five grandchildren; Allison Hutcherson Amy Teeter Greg Rodgers Andy Rodgers and Blair Rodgers. Nine great-grandchildren.
