Obituary

Margaret Ann Nichols Johnson, 82, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, peacefully passed in the arms of God on June 29, 2025. Ann was born on November 27, 1942, to Thomas and Novie Deatherage in Hamby, Texas. Ann spent her entire life devoted to being a faithful servant of the Lord and will be deeply missed by her loved ones. Ann was a strong-willed and passionate person. In her early life, Ann became a mother to her oldest son. She then met Louis Nichols, and they wed on September 17, 1964. Throughout her marriage to Louis, Ann became a mother to three beautiful daughters. Ann's greatest love in her life was her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She made a career as a hairstylist for 45 years. Ann then took on a new career and became a private caregiver until she retired. Through her life, Ann sought strength, peace, and guidance through scripture. She felt deep fulfillment in learning about Christ. Ann spent her days of retirement continuing to deepen her faith and wisdom of the Lord. Her life purpose was for those around her to be surrounded with the words of God. Ann is survived by her sister, Betty Jolly. Her children; Thomas Grazier, Tracie Carlisle, Lorrie Guerrero (Fredrick Guerrero), and Leslie Johnston (Tommy Johnston). Her many grandchildren: Michael Kaiser (Krystal Kaiser), Jon Luke Kaiser, Matthew Kaiser (Teal Kaiser), Miranda Riggins (Gary Riggins), Brianna Goins (Zach Goins), Emilia Chandler (Branson Chandler), Laura Yaddow (Dixon Yaddow), Frederick Guerrero, Landon Johnston, and Joshua Grazier. Ann is also survived by her 16 great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Novie Deatherage; her late husband, Louis; her brother, Burl Deatherage; son-in-law James Kaiser; daughter-in-law Carolyn Grazier and her grandson, Jeremy Grazier. A memorial service will be held for Ann on Wednesday July 2, 2025 at North Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Abilene, TX followed by a burial service at Round Mound Cemetery in Hamby, Texas. Viewing will be held at North's Funeral Home Tuesday from 12pm-5pm.
