Margaret A. "Peggy" Schmidt, 86, of Abilene died Tuesday, January 14, 2014. The eldest daughter of Adolph and Regina Wintermeyer, Peggy was born in Washington D.C. on April 7, 1927. She was a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a career housewife and a lifelong Catholic. We all carry memories of her in our hearts. These are our treasures that we cherish forever. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis R. Schmidt and her eldest son, James F. Schmidt. She is survived by her children Margaret L. "Peg" Bowman (husband Richard Bowman), Patricia A. Schmidt (husband Robert Jordan), Thomas M. Schmidt (wife Ellen Schmidt) and Teresa M. Schmidt. She is survived as well by her sisters, Jean Van Lowe of Texas and Joan Stanley of Virginia and her grandchildren Gina Bowman of Raleigh, NC, Anita Hazlewood of Knoxville, TN, Allison Schmidt of Durham, NC, Ashley Schmidt of Tullahoma, TN, and many nieces and nephews. She shall be missed by all.
