Maria S. Lomas of Abilene passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 in Abilene. Visitation will be held from 9-10am with a Memorial service to begin at 10am, on February 10, 2024, at Iglesia Bautista Ambler 2150 Park Ave, reception will be held following the service.Maria was born October 21, 1937 in Durango, Mexico to Angelita and Pedro Carrillo. Maria grew up in Durango Mexico and moved to Texas in the 1960s. She loved her family and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.Maria was preceded in death by her parents Angelita and Pedro Carillo, her son Mario Lomas, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Mark Lomas (Maria Esther), Roberto Lomas, and Javier Lomas all of Abilene. One sister Eugenia Ornelas of Houston. Grandchildren: Keith Lomas (Tiffany), Jesus Arriaga, Magdalena Hernandez (Edgar), Mario Lomas, Eduardo Lomas (Diana), Albert Lomas, and Randy Lomas (April). Other survivors include great-grandchildren: Brooke Lomas, Edgar Hernandez Jr, Eliana Hernandez, Erin Hernandez, Emma Hernandez, Alexia Lomas, Eduardo Lomas Jr, and Ariella Lomas. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews. Maria will be missed greatly by all who knew her, but her memory will live in our hearts forever.
