Marilyn D. Carter of Abilene passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 in Abilene, TX. Funeral Visitation will be held Saturday February 17, 2024 from 4-6pm at North's Funeral Home Chapel.
Marilyn was born June 23, 1954 in Abilene, TX to Florence Sidney Rice Cook and Virgil Nichols. Marilyn received her primary education from Abilene public schools. After school, her adult life began and she started a family. Marilyn was a stay at home caregiver who cared for her mother, children, and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Marilyn was "like a second mother" to many and loved everyone like her own.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Robert Carter, parents Virgil Nichols and Florence Cook, sisters; Betty Sewell and Billie Gail Johnson, and brother Wallace Nichols.
Left to cherish her memories are: daughter Tamara Cook of Abilene, sons; David Lee Nichols of Abilene, Andrew Nichols of Abilene, Joseph Nichols-Kirk (Harold) of Abilene, Aundrea, granddaughter whom she raised, (Angel Montelongo) of Abilene. Twin sister Mary Sloan (Joseph) of Abilene, TX brother Harvey Nichols of Abilene, sister Charldene Harper (Dan) of Abilene, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, her fur baby "baby girl", and a host of extended family and many friends.
