Marilynn Cox 51 formerly of Abilene passed away in San Antonio Texas on Monday January 15 2007. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 20 2007 in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. A Memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Black officiating. Marilynn was born in Abilene on September 3 1955 and was the second daughter of long time Abilenians the late Willis and Helen Cox. She attended McMurry University and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor's Degree in Art. Her passion was painting watercolors. As a resident of Abilene she was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she participated in many activities. Marilynn worked for the family businesses Cox & Springer and W. Willis Cox Agencies until they closed. She moved to San Antonio in 1995 and worked for Borders Bookstore and later took a part time position for a testing service. She was a positive and optimistic individual who loved her family and friends and enjoyed reading painting and bird watching. She is survived by her sister Virginia Cox of San Antonio Texas.
