Marvin L. Lovell Sr. 75 of Hawley passed away Sunday August 15 2010. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Clearfork Baptist Church in Hawley with Larry Tarver officiating. Burial to follow in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home.
Mr. Lovell was born November 18 1934 in Clyde Texas to Paul and Odessa Lovell. He married Betty Shell in 1955 and was divorced. He married Eunice L. Burkhart who was his friend and companion for 52 years. He served in the U.S. Army for six years. He was a Korean Conflict veteran with the 40th Infantry Division and the 7th Infantry Division. He received many medals including two Korean Presidential Unit Citations and the Bronze Service Medal. He also served as a drill instructor at Fort Sill. He was a member of the Baptist church.
He was preceded in death by his parents one brother and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife Eunice Lovell of Hawley; two sons Marvin L. Lovell Jr. of Abilene David Lovell and wife Monika of Abilene; two daughters Karyn Royce of Utah Greda Clark and husband Jason of Abilene; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
