Mary Eloise Castillo, 77, of Abilene, Texas passed away February 14, 2025. Funeral service will be held on February 22, 2025 at 2 pm Logsdon Chapel at Hardin-Simmons University 1198 Ambler Ave., Abilene, TX 79601. Mary Eloise Castillo was born in Uvalde, Texas, to Ramon Mancha and Rosa Rodriquez on April 17, 1947. She began her career serving the State of Texas until her retirement in 2012. Mary was known to those closest to her as Joy. Joy was the foundation for her children and grandchildren alike. However, her strength, generosity, and love extended well beyond family and into the community to anyone who needed help, guidance, or even just a comforting friend. Her time in this world left a mark on many hearts that will last forever. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Ramon Mancha & Rosa Rodriquez, her son Edward James Castillo, her brothers: Robert Jesse Mancha, Billy Joe Mancha, Roger Matthew Mancha, and her sister Mary Helen Ramirez. Mary is survived by her children Marihelen & Arthur Zapata of Ft. Worth, TX, Arthur Ray & Anissa Castillo of Bedford, TX, Elizabeth R. Castillo of Abilene, TX, Tracy and Jeff Howle of Abilene, TX, Sandra & James Cantu of Rockwall, TX, Sergio & Carmen Vazquez of Abilene, TX, Sheba Mancha & Malcolm Rodriguez of Haslet, TX. Mary's surviving grandchildren include Alex Zapata, Randi Jo Castillo, Alexandria & Timothy Gosart, Edward Anthony Vasquez, Alayna & Felix Herrera, Payton & Jackson Howle, Torin Cantu, Andrew, Teresa, & Bella Vazquez. Alissa Marie Castillo, Theresa Lynn Martin, & Ashley Rae Smith. Great-grandchildren include Anastacia Gonzales & Christopher Vasquez. Mary's surviving siblings are Raymond Mancha, Randy Mancha, Roy Mancha, Melinda Yang, Robert Lee Mancha, Rose Paiz, & Mary Lou Martinez. Services entrusted to North's Funeral Home.
