Mary Leona Edwards 73 of Abilene passed away Saturday April 7 2012. Services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Broadview Baptist Church West with Vernon Ferguson officiating. Burial to follow in McBee Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00-7:00 p.m. at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street . Mary was born September 12 1938 in Sherman Texas to William Thomas and Esther Penn Martin. She has been a resident of the area since 1979. Mary is preceded in death by her parents two sisters and spouse Harry Edwards She is survived by her sons; Billy Mandrell Larry Mandrell and wife Diane Bobby Wayne Bates Harold Edwards daughters; Mary Sue Jordan Linda Dianne Mandrell Janice Bates Almeta Nickles and Hope Champion; brothers Billy Martin Ronny Woods and wife Joan Jerrel Jamerson and Leon Martin: sisters Joyce Walker and husband Jerry and Jane Ryan and husband Tim; five grandsons three granddaughters two great-grandsons and five great-granddaughters; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Bill Peterson. Mary worked in several restaurants was a Foster Grandparent and a member of Broadview Baptist Church for many years. She will be truly missed by her friends and family.
