Mary C. King, 76, of Abilene, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at North's Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Born on May 25, 1948, in Abilene, Texas, Mary graduated from Abilene High School and spent her life in the town she loved. She married Gerald Wayne King, known as "Jerry," on October 14, 1966. Together, they built a loving home. Mary was a devoted stay-at-home mom, pouring her heart into raising her daughter, Jackey.
Mary had a deep love for her cats, and her care and affection for them were a testament to her nurturing spirit. She cherished her family and friends and was known for her kindness and selflessness.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Wayne King, her parents, Milton Odell Myers and Mary Ann Myers, and her brothers, James Myers and Melvin Myers.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Jackey Hill and husband, David "BO" of Ovalo, Texas; her grandson, Rhett Hill; her brother, Royce Myers; her sister, Sharon Hopper; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She also leaves behind extended family and many dear friends.
Mary will be remembered for her love, kindness, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. Her family is grateful for the time they had with her and will hold her memory close to their hearts.
