Mary Katherine Lanham was born in Baird, TX on July 10th, 1946 to Adrian and Pearl Sandford. Mary was known to her family and friends as "Kathy". Kathy moved to Abilene with her family when she was 13 years old. She attended Abilene High School. She met David Michael Lanham in 1964 and they married June 4, 1965. Mike and Kathy had a daughter Dana and a son Ryan. She spent her early years working at TIMEX, making watches. She later started to work at an answering service and soon became the manager. Kathy was spunky and loved all kinds of music especially rock and roll. Kathy loved God and her family deeply. She did not like people to make a fuss over her. She loved spending time with family. She loved telling you about her favorite soap opera "General Hospital". She enjoyed reading, listening to music, and hanging out with family. Kathy was loved by anyone she met. She was so sweet and funny you could not help but to fall in love with her. There are so many memories of her that are so funny and inspirational. She was wise, loving, and she will truly be missed by her family and friends. Kathy went to her Heavenly home on June 29, 2024 at 3PM surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her father Adrian Sanford (PawPaw), mother Pearl Sandford (Memaw) and her husband David Michael Lanham (Mike). She is survived by her sister, Rhonda Gayle O'Con (husband Ray O'Con), daughter Dana Perry (Sonny Perry), son Ryan Lanham (Amy Sanchez), Grandson, Wyatt Covarrubias, Granddaughter, Sara Lanham, several nieces and nephews, and 2 sister-in-laws. Pallbearers: Charles Notgrass, Paul Notgrass, Ray O'Con, Floyd Perry, JR, Matther McGough, and Daren Ray. In lieu of flowers please donate to the humane society. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 4th, 2024 from 6-8PM at North's Funeral Home located at 242 Orange St. in Abilene, Texas. Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 5th, 2024 at 10AM at North's Funeral Home and followed by a Graveside Service located at Elmwood Funeral Home and Memorial located at 5750 US-277 Abilene, Texas 79606.
