Mary C. Wright, 86, of Abilene, Texas joined the communion of angels and saints early in the quiet morning hours of Sunday, December 27, 2015. Mary was born February 10, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to William James Brown and Sarah Jane Kingsberry Brown. From birth, her time on Earth was dazzling. She loved without limitation and showed compassion for every earthly thing. She was the champion of all things living, with exceptional appreciation for creepy crawly critters that others often shunned out of fear. She embodied patience, thoughtfulness, kindness, forgiveness, grace, and beauty. If you want to look for her, you can find her in softly fallen snow, plump winter cardinals, a screaming hot cup of English tea, the pages of books that beg to be turned, the silken sliver on the back of a dogs ear, crescendos in the final Allegro of a symphony, the chewy heel of a loaf of nice bread, and gentle whispers of love before you drift off to sleep. She may also have long, curly, red hair and be riding on the back of a Harley. She is reunited with her husband, Robert James Wright; and is also preceded in death by her beloved son, Chris Douglas Kosman. Mary is survived by her children, William Kosman of Houston, Texas; Nancy (Danny) Rimkus of Rio Frio, Texas; Craig (Cheryl) Wright of San Antonio, Texas; Warren (Dinah) Wright of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Robyn (Rob) Dunbar of Palo Alto, California; sister Edith (John) Catalano of Grosse Point Shores, Michigan; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and dear friends Maria Villegas of Abilene, Texas, and Diane Mickelson of Mesquite, Texas. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander Street. Graveside services will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016 in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street.
