Obituary

Matilda Espinoza 88 of Abilene passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, at home surrounded by family. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday December 21, at 10am at St. Francis Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday at 7:00 pm with Rosary starting at 7:30pm at North's Funeral Home Chapel. Matilda was born March 14, 1936, in Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico to Vicenta Valenzuela and Pablo Soria. Matilda received her education in Acuna. In her spare time she loved to play bingo, eat Taco Casa and go shopping with her husband, spend time with her grandkids and loved going to church. Preceded in death by her parents Pablo Soria and Vicenta Valenzuela, her 10 siblings, one daughter, Nelda Sanchez, son-in- law Jimmy Sanchez, son-in-law Roman Bell, and grandson Johnny Hernandez Jr. She is also survived by her husband Ubil Espinoza, son Billy (Pam) Espinoza of Tennessee, Ricky (Minnie) Espinoza, Linda (Johnny) Hernandez, Leticia Bell, Rudy Espinoza, BryAnna Espinoza all of Abilene. Shes also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Matilda retired from Texas Health Care Linen where she worked for 39 years. Pallbearers will be Michael Bell, BryAnna Espinoza, Quentin Bell, Ricky Espinoza, Jerry Rodriguez, and Ryan Espinoza.
