Michael John Gebhard was born March 2 nd in 1954. He passed at the age of 68 on
November 24 th , 2022. He leaves behind his beloved two dogs, Buddy and Jack, as well
as his best friend Melvin and family members including his mother, sister, and four
children. To honor his life, we will hold a graveside service at Texas State Veteran Cemetery on December 2, 2022 at 1 pm.
Michael is an Airman and Air Force Veteran; he was very proud of the service he
provided to his country. He loved to write songs that he'd play on his guitar, was an
amazing sketch artist; and he was an avid reader whose bookshelf was filled with
informative books ranging from historical to engineering and more. He was firm in his
beliefs and what he knew and always sought out to understand the truth rather than
simply consuming what was put in front of him. He was a casual but great chess player;
the game and what it represented was something he appreciated a lot. Michael was
very proud of the work he put into his home, he was a tinkerer (from the solar panels
that powered his home down to the simple doggie doors that allowed his two loved dogs
to run freely in and out of the home). He was a kind man, who cared deeply. He knew
who he was and embraced the challenges given to him. During his last year of life, he
was diagnosed with cancer. He showed courage, strength and love throughout his final
days with those he cared for. Michael used his final days to reconnect with those he
cared for and found the discipline to enjoy the passing of time. He was very thankful for
all of his experiences and memories given to him, as well as the opportunity to rekindle
and strengthen bonds that never disappeared but was delightful for him to revisit. He
was reassured of his worth and in the meaning of his life. Michael will not be forgotten,
and those close to him will celebrate his life in their own ways during the continuation of
life.
