Michael "Mikey" Steve Johnson, Jr., age 37 of Lubbock, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm, Monday September 19 at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street, Abilene with Pastor Jami McCravey officiating. Burial will follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery Abilene.

Mikey was born on August 12th, 1985, in Lubbock Texas to Steve Johnson and Sindy Johnson. He entered the United States Marine Corps on December 2nd, 2003, and upon graduation from boot camp was assigned to Special Weapons and Marksman School. After completing his training, he was immediately dispatched to Iraq. Mikey received many medals, certificates and commendations while serving in Iraq. After serving his second 12 month deployment he was honorably discharged on December 1st, 2007, achieving the rank of Sergeant. After returning to Texas, he enjoyed hunting and any outdoor activity.
