Obituary

On Saturday, October 15, 2022, Michael (Mike) Ledane Sims, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 42.

Mike was born on November 7, 1979 in Houston, TX to Benita and Ledane Sims.

Mike was a simple, humble man. On December 14, 2012 he married the love of his life - Kimberly Hill. They raised three sons, Aaron, James, and Kaleb.

Mike had a passion for making friends. He worked diligently and skillfully at his job and loved meeting new people all the time. He Combined his favorite hobbies B.B.Q -ing and making friends.

He was much admired not only by friends and family, but also by all who frequented the shop where he worked and or met him on the road.

Mike made sure they would reach their destination safely. His skills helped people who were stranded on the road and helped trucker's reach their destination with their cargo to meet deadlines with his amazing serviceman skills.

Mike was an avid country music lover of which you would hear him sing his favorite song: "Country Boy Can Survive" when he pulled up to his driveway. He was a collector of country music memorabilia and was well known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Ledane Sims and is survived by his wife Kimberly, their three children: Aaron, J. T. and Kaleb. His mother Benita Woodmancee Sims, Lee (Erika) Sims, Chris (Jennifer) Sims, Marla Sims, Doug (Mandy) Woodmancee and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A neighborhood memorial service will be held to honor his memory at his place of residence:
